Thanks to /u/ToxicAvenger9 for the solution. Note: After the disk has been converted to MBR, make sure the partition holding your games is still the active partition. Click apply and follow the on-screen prompt.Right click the Wii Drive in the list and choose 'Convert GPT disk to MBR disk'.Open Minitool and choose 'Disk & Partition Management'.Download Minitool Partition Wizard from Note: be sure to uncheck avast in the installer as it's bundled in by default!.You can easily fix this by completing the following steps, which should not cause data loss (but I take no responsibility if anything bad happens): The problem is GUIFORMAT will format your partition to fat32, but it uses GPT partitions rather than MBR.
A MILLION THANKS TO /u/fdddm for pointing me in the right direction. Hi, I got version 5.5.5 on my Wii U and I have done all according to guides with installing Haxchi, Homebrew launcher, Cold boot haxchi and everything is working fine. Does anyone know how to solve this problem or am I stuck using the SD card forever for emulators and apps?ĮDIT: FOUND THE SOLUTION. It works with all my Wii/GC games, nintendont, and cover art directories. Other than this, my USB HDD works perfectly with my system. If I remove the SD card, enter The Homebrew Channel, and switch the source from SD to USB HDD, I get a black error screen with something about a DSI error dump, the console locks up, and I have to power off the Wii from the button on the front of the console to get back to the main Wii menu. Problem: When I try to switch the app source directory to the USB HDD in The Homebrew Channel with the SD card inserted, it does not load the apps from the USB HDD but instead just reloads the apps from the SD card. Goal: I want to be able to run my apps from the USB HDD directly rather than from my SD card.
For this to work, you will need: SD Card (2GB or smaller) Twilight Princess Wii game or a modchip. For reference, I'm having the EXACT same problem as the guy in this thread: This guide will show you how to install the Homebrew Channel onto your Wii which will let you install Virtual Console and WiiWare channels with ease.
